iOS 6 hits London subway, printed maps given to users

The launch of iPhone 5 & iOS 6 has attracted a lot of negative publicity to the much used maps utility. Many felt Apple tried to fix something that was not broken. Google Maps can be installed on iOS6 but it doesn’t get shipped by default as before. Google is working on a iOS 6 maps app. Alternate maps app for iOS6 are Waze and Scout.

Mobile advertising not taking off, it is all about size

Why can’t leaders in India be as cool as Obama?

Today there is a lot of mistrust between residents in India and the politicians (irrespective of the political party). There is a war on social media. I would like to emphasize that I am totally against anti-national content floating around, I doubt any sane person will support bad content.

The growing influence of Facebook in India, it is for real

Today I was at a hotel in Bangalore waiting for a meeting scheduled to start at 10:30 am. I reached the hotel a little early and decided to check out the bookstore in that hotel. For a Saturday 10:15 am can be considered early hours! I was strolling around the bookstore and I could not take my eyes off what the store manager was browsing – a Hindi website. Nothing that unusual about anyone reading Hindi on the net. The real stuff happened later.
