Most of have visited the food courts in malls (in India). Over the last 7-8 years malls have become the favorite destination of ours as it has food & movies (for men) and shopping (for women!). Malls are able to attract crowds because of movie theaters and it these crowds which get into food courts.

Yesterday (March 21, 2009) I attended the final round of Bizcomp.in – organized by SJCE – Science & Technology Entrepreneurs Park (SJCE-STEP). I being an Alumni of Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE) look forward to some excuse to visit my alma mater – not that I visit them all the time, it took my 21 years after graduation to spend a good amount of time at my beloved alma mater. Most of you who have been thru or read about the late 1990s internet boom would agree upon one thing – most entrepreners were young (below 30). Marc Andreessen was just 24 years when he co-founded Netscape. He has published his analysis of the relationship between age and entrepreneurship based on a paper written by a professor of psychology at University of California Davis named Dean Simonto. The paper is researched across many fields – science, literature, music, chess, film, politics, and military combat. The research was done in the pre-internet boom period.

Marc Andreessen’s Opsware gets acquired by HP for $1.6b

Marc Andreessen is one of the internet legends. He fueled the growth of internet by creating one of the first internet browsers, namely Mosaic while at the University of Illinois. After graduation, Marc co-founded Netscape Communications, and played a critical role in the company’s hypergrowth. Andreessen later became CTO of AOL when the company purchased Netscape in 1999.
