According to CyberMedia Research (CMR), 1.02 million tablets were imported for March quarter in 2015 (Q1 2014), lower than 1.2 million in December quarter in 2014 (Q4 2014). The reports says tablet shipments will not grow in India, it will only shrink.
Indian and Chinese tablet makers (iBall, Karbonn, Lava) make up for 58.6% of the tablet market in India.
One of the main reasons for the slow growth of tablet sales is because the replacement rates are very slow (unlike mobile handset). The other reason is the rise in the usage of smartphones, very few want to carry a smartphone and a tablet.
