Internet world thinks India is still ruled by the British

Internet penetration in India is not as high as the western world and countries like South Korea. Agreed. But is it that low that the outside world is not aware of a .co.in TLD [what is]?

Last week when I registered on two sites I was given a mild warning – did I mean to enter .co.uk and not .co.in TLD.

I don’t know the exact reason for this ignorance but it is high time the rest of the world wakes up to India. After all India has one of the largest internet user base for Facebook and Twitter.
