Rangoli: Low cost, alternate advertising in India

Bangalore recently got another bookshop, Odyssey, on 100 feet road Indiranagar. It was inaugurated on November 11, 2008 (shut in 2013).

Nothing special about a bookshop being inaugurated (other than the fact that such a big one was being opened during the slowdown times).

They came up with a neat way of advertising door to door about this bookshop. They went the traditional way – they used Rangoli on every doorstep/driveway in our locality. I thought it was cool and appeared to be a lot more environment-friendly than the zillion inserts you get these days in your Sunday newspapers.

And for those who are advertising online, please continue to do so 😉
