Today people of Kerala celebrate Onam [Wiki], their biggest festival. At Oneindia, we are fortunate to have people from all over India – Keralites, Bongs, from North East, Tamilians, Andhraites, Gujaraties, Maharashtrians, UPites, Delhiites and of course Kannadigas.
One of the festivals we celebrate at work every year with a simple decoration is Onam. This festival is a traditional Hindu harvest festival celebrated in the state of Kerala. The festival is also celebrated by Christians of Kerala, in its churches.
This year the artwork was exceptional. Such activities unite people from different backgrounds. I had to share it with the world, especially because I was fortunate to get my hands on the ‘making of the Onam rangoli‘.
Having any talent is very useful, I wish I could draw so well. It takes hours to complete such tasks, in today’s digital world, I think it is a great way to detox from smartphones.
