India has enormous appetite for consuming mobile data services on the go

According to a report from Nokia Siemens Network mobile internet traffic has grown by 50% in the first half of 2012. Other important points from the report are,

Another report in the US says tablet owners mostly use their devices at home (over 72 percent), while smartphone users mostly use their devices “on the go” (over 68 percent). The most popular on-the-go location is the car.

25% of mobile web users browse ONLY on their phones, never on laptops, tablets, desktop. 50% of mobile users abandon a page if it doesn’t load in 10 seconds. I believe in India mobile browsing is still very slow (on GPRS).

While a good number of mobile users notice and click on the mobile ads I have always found the mobile monetization to be low. Guess it is early days for mobile monetization.
