US Mobile Ad Spending Up By 80% in 2010

According to the latest report from eMarketer Mobile Ad spend in the US has gone up by 80% in 2010.

  • In 2010 the mobile ad spend will reach $743m
  • Projection for 2011 is $1.1b, 2014 is $2.5b
  • Video, display and search ad spending on mobile will all more than double in 2010
  • SMS is still the largest format, with spending of $327 million in 2010
  • eMarketer forecast that US mobile ad spending would reach just $593

    I really hate the extrapolation concept... the worst assumption used in the financial concept that the trend will continue anyways.
