Internet companies in India usually complain about the low internet user base we have, or at least we would have wanted a faster growth in the user base. The internet user base in India estimate varies from 60 million to 100 million, depending on whom you ask. For a country with over 1 billion people, it is reasonably safe to say our online user base is small.
Why is that social networking in India makes its presence felt in the global world? Earlier India was not appearing in any statistics, now it prominently appears in the top 5 countries in various surveys (Hurrah!)

comScore just released its first look at visitation to Google+ finding that in its first three weeks (June 29, 2011 – July 19, 2011, i.e. 21 days) the site has reached 20 million worldwide visitors. India ranked as the second largest market for Google+ with 2.8 million visitors.
