Forecast 2010: Digital ad spend in India

According to a report about Digital Ad spend in India by Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) and eMarketer

  • Paid search will surpass display ad spends in the year 2010 in India
  • By the end of 2010, the total digital ad spends –including display, search, mobile and social marketing — in India are expected to reach Rs 1,021 crore.
  • For 2010 the digital ad pie would be: Paid search Rs 470 crore (46 per cent share),  display advertising spends  Rs 420 crore (41 per cent), Mobile marketing Rs 124 crore, social media advertising  Rs 9 crore
  • By 2012, the total digital ad spends may reach around Rs 1,714 crore (Paid search spends Rs 815 crore, online display ad spends Rs 625 crore, mobile marketing Rs 240 crore, social media advertising Rs 37 crore )
