Finally digital advertising in India will cross a billion dollars. The latest report from GroupM titled “This Year Next Year” for 2016 goes in depth on ad spend in India. After reading many articles which covered this report it appears mobile advertising data is not seen in this report.
By 2017 internet will be the biggest advertising medium in 12 key markets, according to the report “Advertising Expenditure Forecasts – June 2015” from ZenithOptimedia. Internet ad spend, which will include the mobile, will be representing 28% of global adspend by 2017. The good news is that internet ad spend would overtake traditional TV (just TV sets, doesn’t include TV watched online).
An article in How long can the e-comm ad splurge last? (dated April 22, 2015) highlights the digital ad spend by ecommerce players in India. In 2015 the digital ad spend in India is projected to be $939 million but who will be contributing to this spend – ecommerce players in India.
According to a report by advertising giant GroupM, Ad spend in India will touch Rs 49,000 crore / $8.1 billion (12.6% growth over 2014).
India will see a 37% increase in digital ad revenue in 2015. Digital media has been growing at an average rate of 35% over the last 2 years (2013, 2014).
