I was reading “The IT Act of India needs to make provision for constituency websites” which talks about the lack of information of the 250,000 electoral constituencies India has (parliamentary/federal/centre, assembly/state and panchayat/local).
According to the press release from White House, Presidential Memorandum: Unleashing the Wireless Broadband Revolution, President Obama has signed a memorandum in support of freeing up 500 MHz of spectrum for mobile broadband services.
Obama in his weekly radio/web address on Dec 6, 2008 said he would make broadband accessible to every child in the US.
As we renew our schools and highways, we’ll also renew our information superhighway. It is unacceptable that the United States ranks 15th in the world in broadband adoption. Here, in the country that invented the internet, every child should have the chance to get online, and they’ll get that chance when I’m President – because that’s how we’ll strengthen America’s competitiveness in the world.
